How to combine documents and photos into one PDF
Applications for jobs, admissions, visas and loans often say "upload all documents as a single PDF". Here is how to put certificates, Word files and phone photos together in the right order.
Steps
- Open Merge PDF.
- Drop everything at once: PDFs, Word, Excel or PowerPoint files, and JPG or PNG photos.
- Drag pages into the order the form asks for (for example: marksheets, then certificates, then ID).
- Rotate sideways pages and delete pages you do not need.
- Download the single PDF.
- If the portal has a size limit, open PDF or photo under X KB and make the merged file fit.
PDFs and photos are combined in your browser. Word, Excel and PowerPoint files are converted on PatraPDF's server and deleted right after.
Tips for a neat file
- Photograph documents flat, from straight above, in daylight, without your shadow. Crop to the paper's edges.
- One orientation: turn landscape photos so every page reads the same way up.
- Follow the order in the notice. Officers check documents in that order; a jumbled file slows everything down.
- Add page numbers with Page numbers & stamps for long files, so you can say "see page 7".
- Name the file clearly, for example "Rahul_Sharma_Documents.pdf", if the portal shows file names.
Questions
Can I add a page in the middle later?
Yes. In Merge PDF, hover over a page and click the orange + to insert a blank page or another file at that spot.
Is there a limit on the number of files?
You can combine many files; very large files take longer. If the result is too big for the portal, compress it afterwards.
Will my photos lose quality?
No, merging keeps them as they are. Quality changes only if you then compress the file to a small KB limit.
