How to sign a PDF without printing it
Print, sign, scan, e-mail: four steps for one signature. You can sign the PDF directly on your phone or computer instead.
Steps
- Open Sign PDF and drop the PDF.
- Choose how to sign:
- Draw with your finger (phone) or mouse (computer)
- Type your name and pick a handwriting style
- Upload a photo of your signature on white paper
- Place the signature on the page and drag the corners to resize it.
- Add the date or your name as text if the document asks for it.
- Download the signed PDF.
The file stays in your browser and is not uploaded. There is no watermark.
Is this signature legally valid?
A signature image on a PDF is an electronic signature and is commonly accepted for everyday documents: rent agreements between people who know each other, consent forms, internal office approvals, school forms.
Some documents need a stronger, digital signature that proves who signed and that nothing changed afterwards, for example:
- Income tax, GST and company (MCA) filings, which use a DSC (Digital Signature Certificate) or Aadhaar-based eSign
- Documents where the other side specifically asks for a DSC or eSign
If you are not sure, ask the organisation that will receive the document which kind of signature it accepts.
Questions
Can I sign on my phone?
Yes. Open patrapdf.in/sign-pdf in your phone's browser and draw with your finger.
Do I have to draw my signature every time?
No. Signatures you make are remembered in your browser, so next time you can pick one and place it in a click. You can delete saved ones at any time.
Can I fill in a form before signing?
Yes. Use Fill & create forms to type into the form's boxes, then sign the same file.
